As a more than obvious farang, I still have no idea why the Thais feel the way they do. I visited the Blood Foundation website and it reinforced what I already knew, and more, about Burma’s political/humanitarian woes. Can someone enlighten me? Do Thais feel the way they do out of fear of opening a refuge flood gate? Is there a part of resented history I have missed or is it just plain good old racism? As I listened to various cousins whine this weekend about not being able to find jobs while also saying that they wouldn't work certain shifts I was struck at how spoiled many of us are.
