Very excited about Unearthing Asia ….

by Jungle Girl on January 13, 2010

Some of you might know I write for travel magazine Unearthing Asia, a great online magazine all about the delights of Southeast Asia. I’m really pleased to let you all know that the first print edition, featuring an article by yours truly, is now out.  For those of you in Asia you can grab it at a newstand now,  or click here to browse it online.

Congratulations on your input into the new magazine. Have you got a regular spot in it or was this a one off article. Regular surely translates into baht. Nice to see you are posting more frequently, I’m sure that in itself will make a lot of people happy.

Hi martyn, thanks for the congratulations..It is a regular spot, but not much dough…it’s okay though I like the project and the people and I can write the stuff I like to write, rather than the usual web content I do for clients.

On Steve’s site you posted:

‘Right now I’m writing a cookbook about how to use Thai vegetables’

I am totally excited about your cookbook. I’ve made a real effort to increase the amount of veg in my diet, but I’m running into walls with Thai veg and I can only stand to eat broccoli a few times a week. When will your book be published?

Also, I’d love to write about your endeavor, so please drop me a line.

Hi Catherine, thanks for checking in, so nice to hear from you.

The cookbook is a slow process, my cousin is arriving next week, he’s a great chef and he’s going to help me get it together so I hope to get it finished in the next month. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s done – probably it’ll be an e-book with a little print run here on Koh Phangan. I’m excited about it as well, because like you I am not great with eating enough veg, and I hate buying over-priced air-freighted farang veggies. It’d be fantastic if you can write about it on your blog….right off to get organised…….

Yes john, we should all try to eat more vegetables, but those ribs are just so delicious! I can never resist them. Hopefully when I get the book going it will have loads of recipes for farang recipes but using thai veggies. Take care and thanks as always for your input.
